The Beauty of Controversy

Benetton is still at it. With the release of their latest ad campaign, Unhate, controversy continues. Queue the famous Prince tune of the same name.

I’ve loved them for a long time. I skipped school the day Benetton [surprisingly] came to mid-Michigan in 1986—-Fashion Square Mall, Saginaw Michigan. And, if I remember correctly, I spent a nice chunk of money I’d been saving for college to get a nice collection of those awesome rugby jerseys, fabulous watches…anything emblazoned with that beautiful logo, those bright colors. The ads were much simpler then, but still quite effective in garnering attention. And though somewhat controversial, I’m still paying attention.
